Thank you

January 12, 2022

There are so many people who have come together and have made this journey so much easier because of it.

Denise Lee put together a bag when she heard I was going to be hospitalized the day I went to urgent care. It was there she sat for hours with me and talked with me. I felt at ease having a familiar face in the room while nurses and doctors came in and out.

I would like to thank everyone who sent me cards. I get a lot of compliments on my door of cards and it’s thanks to you. Thank you for the encouragement, prayers, and kind words. It has been a long month but I feel very blessed.

So thank you…

It is not all that fun being in the hospital so I would like to thank the people who came and visited me. After being put in isolation I have realized how much faster my days felt while spending time with these people. Many times I would be exhausted and so I thank you for sitting with me when I couldn’t do anything, encouraging me to walk, and most importantly forcing me to drink water even when I really did not want to. I’d also just like to thank you for the conversation, prayers, and the general time spent together.

Thank you to those who have visited me in the hospital:

After finding out I had cancer I had to end my lease with my apartment. I was immediately hospitalized and had no way of helping clean or pack my apartment. Thank you to the family who came together to clean, organize, pack, box, and move my things. I know it was a big task and I did not make it easy.

Thank you to:

Thank you to the housekeepers, social workers, dieticians, transport team, picc line crew, front desk ladies, CNAs, nurses, and doctors who have helped me throughout this. I’ve enjoyed getting to know you and am so grateful for a great support system. They have reassured me countless times throughout my stay, helped me to feel comfortable, overall they have done all that they can to help me and make it fun while doing so.

Thank you volunteers Wayne and Bentley. Bentley is a therapy dog who is very sweet and likes to snuggle up on my bed. Wayne makes sure to come every tuesday morning and does so without fail, even if it just to wave through the door. I was not expecting a dog and his owner who I had never met before to visit me but could not be more grateful.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who has called me, texted me, commented on posts, sent me videos, and facetimed. I have felt very loved and am grateful to those of you who reached out to let me know you were thinking of me.
